About Us

Our Great Danes are part of our family and take part of our daily lives. We fell in love with the breed many years ago and have never looked back. We adore the breed, the elegance, devotion, love, laughs and joy they bring to us. Our Danes reside inside our home with us and are included in our daily activities. We work with our vet making sure they receive the best care that they deserve. We live rural on 22 acres with room for them to run and discover and just enjoy being dogs. Our dogs are around cats and chickens and are used to the country life with cows and horses nearby. They love nothing more than to run errands with us. We cannot open a vehicle door without them lining up to want to go.

Our Mission

We strive to produce sound, healthy, and loving AKC pups. Our Sires and Dams have OFA or PennHIP certification for hips and our veterinarian’s full checkup before breeding. We breed for health and temperament first and foremost. All our pups leave with a health guarantee. If you choose a Blue Mountain Great Dane puppy you become part of the Blue Mountain Great Danes family. We offer lifetime breeder support throughout the life of your Great Dane. We are here to support you and your puppy so that you both have a fulfilling relationship. We promise to be there for you should the need arise.

We desire nothing more than for shelters to be empty. Therefore, each one of our pups has a return contract so that if you can no longer keep the puppy for any reason we will gladly take it back. This keeps our babies out of the shelters and guarantees our babies a loving home for life. Our puppies will also be microchipped and pre-registered through AKC Reunite.

About the Breed

Danes love to be with “their people” and will show you loyalty and love each and everyday. Sadly, many Great Danes are re-homed or taken to shelters due to their large size. Great Danes are an extra large breed, 140 lbs or more and standing 32” at the withers on average. They have very unique needs for diets and exercise. They will require a quality food that has the appropriate phosphorus and calcium content to support their ligaments and bones while they grow. We highly recommend dog insurance as big dogs can equal even bigger vet bills. Danes should be confident, loving, gentle, and loyal. These come naturally to a Dane, however it is up to you to continue socializing, desensitizing and encouraging the behavior you want when they leave us. They desire nothing more than to please you so training is fairly easy, long as you establish rules and boundaries consistently from the moment you bring them home. Proper socialization is key as well. We highly recommend taking them places and socializing (once appropriate vaccines are done) and exposing them to new people and places as much as you can when you bring your new pup home. Socializing can be as simple as going through the drive through, watching your kids play baseball, walks in the neighborhood, random trips to the vet just to be weighed in and get a treat. The amount of time you put into your new baby will never be regretted. The bond is amazing and the rewards insurmountable. We do not recommend dog parks but a well vetted daycare is a wonderful asset for socializing with other dogs. A reputable daycare will vet each dog before they are accepted into their care and you can rest at ease knowing they are vaccinated and temperament tested.

If you feel that after researching the breed and know that a Great Dane is the right fit for you, please reach out to us and we will work together to pair you with your forever friend.

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to biosecurity, families will only interact with their puppy and not the other dogs in our program at time of pickup. We would love to have you meet each and every one of our Danes including the parents however, the safety of our dogs and puppies is our top priority. We encourage you to follow us on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook and you can see into our daily lives with our Danes. We encourage and welcome everyone to come pick up their baby in person at our home! We love to meet our Dane families in person. We appreciate you understanding.
